Scholarship Requirements for Women in Aviation (pilots and mechanics)

  • Undergraduate applicants must be either Juniors or Seniors enrolled in a college program leading to a career as a professional pilot or professional helicopter pilot.
  • Graduate applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate program leading to a career as a professional pilot or professional helicopter pilot.
  • All applicants must have and maintain a GPA of at least 3.25.
  • Mechanics must be enrolled in a program leading to a certification as an aircraft and / or helicopter mechanic.
  • Helicopter Pilots must be enrolled in a commercial pilot program, hold a private pilots license and have passed the required medical tests.
Document Requirements for Aviation
  • Official transcript.
  • Copy of pilot’s license.
  • Three letters of recommendation from your instructors.
  • Two letters of recommendation (other than immediate family)
  • All applicants must complete the required application form and submit copies of required documents.

 

Scholarship Requirements for Women in Maritime

  • Undergraduate applicants must be either Juniors or Seniors enrolled in a Maritime Academy actively participating in a program leading to a career at sea.
  • Graduate applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate program in the field of navigation, bridge officer, or naval engineering leading to a career at sea.
  • All applicants must have and maintain a GPA of at least 3.25.
  • Merchant Mariner applicants must be enrolled in a maritime school for a Merchant Marine License or Merchant Mariner Document.
Document Requirements for Maritime / Merchant Mariner
  • Proof of USCG accepted qualifying sea service
  • Two letters of recommendation from professional contacts.
  • Copies of licenses or certificates currently held (i.e. a maritime document, etc.).
  • All applicants must complete the required application form and submit copies of required documents.

Scholarship for Women in other transportation fields

  • This type of scholarship is determined on a per case basis.
  • All applicants must have and maintain a GPA of at least 3.25.
Document Requirements for other transportation fields
  • Two letters of recommendation from professional contacts.
  • All applicants must complete the required application form and submit copies of required documents.
