For Women in the United States Pursuing Careers in Transportation
Aviation Scholarship Requirements
scholastic requirements
- Undergraduate applicants must be either Juniors or Seniors enrolled in a college program leading to a career as a professional pilot or professional helicopter pilot.
- Graduate applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate program leading to a career as a professional pilot or professional helicopter pilot.
- All applicants must have and maintain a GPA of at least 3.25.
- Mechanics must be enrolled in a program leading to a certification as an aircraft and / or helicopter mechanic.
- Helicopter Pilots must be enrolled in a commercial pilot program, hold a private pilots license and have passed the required medical tests.
- Must be a United States Citizen
Document Requirements
- Official transcript.
- Copy of pilot’s license.
- Three letters of recommendation from your instructors.
- Two letters of recommendation (other than immediate family)
- All applicants must complete the required application form and submit copies of required documents.
Maritime Scholarship Requirements
scholastic requirements
- Undergraduate applicants must be either Juniors or Seniors enrolled in a Maritime Academy actively participating in a program leading to a career at sea.
- Graduate applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate program in the field of navigation, bridge officer, or naval engineering leading to a career at sea.
- All applicants must have and maintain a GPA of at least 3.25.
- Merchant Mariner applicants must be enrolled in a maritime school for a Merchant Marine License or Merchant Mariner Document.
- Must be a United States Citizen
Document Requirements
- Proof of USCG accepted qualifying sea service
- Two letters of recommendation from professional contacts.
- Copies of licenses or certificates currently held (i.e. a maritime document, etc.).
- All applicants must complete the required application form and submit copies of required documents.
Requirements For Other Transportation Fields

- All applicants must have and maintain a GPA of at least 3.25.
